Divisions, Teams & Rosters
Manage the teams inside your seasons and tournaments — add and organize divisions, place and move teams, build rosters, and lock rosters when play begins.
Most of this happens in two places: the Structure tab (sidebar → League Management → Structure, at /admin/organize) for the tournament → contest → division → team tree, and a division’s own page (open a division from Structure) for that division’s teams, roster, and schedule.
How do I add a new division to a season?
- Open the Structure tab.
- Find your season (a standalone league) or a tournament’s contest, and click Add Division on that row.
- Type the division name — e.g. “Competitive”, “MENS (3.5)”, “U12” — and confirm with the check.
Divisions are created name-only; configure capacity, min/max players, eligibility, and stats from the division row’s ⋯ → Settings.
How do I add a new team to a specific division?
Open the division from the Structure tab (the arrow/expand into its page), then click Add Team. Enter the team name (or, for doubles/individual formats that exclude team names, just the players) and submit.
When the division has a registration, the added team is automatically linked to it (it shows the “Registered” badge) and stays off the public division page until an admin accepts it — or until you check Force team onto division, which marks the team accepted and shows it publicly immediately even without payment or a signed waiver (useful when those are handled on paper; a confirmation appears when you check it, and you can record the payment later from the team page). If the registration is past its end date, an Ignore registration deadline checkbox appears — check it to acknowledge inviting the manager after the deadline. Divisions without a registration behave as before: the team is added directly with the “Unregistered” badge.
You can also add a team and invite its manager to finish registration and payment themselves — check “Send registration invite to team manager” in the Add Team dialog. See Manage Registrations — Invite a Team Manager.
How do I move a team from one division to another?
In the Structure tab, expand the contest so its divisions and teams are visible, then drag the team’s row onto the target division (within the same tournament/season). Staty checks the destination division’s eligibility before moving. Drop targets highlight as you drag.
How do I assign players to a team roster?
When you add a team on the division page, the Add Team dialog includes a roster section — click Add Player for each player (the number required follows the division’s min/max players). You can also manage a team’s players later from the team’s players page.
How do I view which teams have registered for a division?
Open the division from Structure — its page shows a Teams (n) card listing every team in the division. The Structure tree also shows teams nested under each division, and the public site’s “Teams by Division” card lists registered teams to visitors.
How do I delete a division?
In the Structure tab, open the division row’s ⋯ menu and choose Delete, then confirm. Deleting a division cannot be undone, so remove or move its teams first if you want to keep them.
How do I remove a team, and can I restore a deleted team?
Removing a team is a soft delete — done from the Registrations page (open a registration → the team’s ⋯ menu → Remove). Two ways to bring a team back:
- Undo — a toast appears right after removal with an Undo action.
- Deleted teams — a collapsed Deleted teams section below the teams table lists removed teams; click Restore to return the team and its division placement.
A team with unrefunded payments cannot be removed — fully refund it first (see Issue Refunds).
What is the roster lock feature, and how do I enable it?
Roster Lock prevents further roster/player changes after a date you choose — useful once a season starts. On the Registrations page, turn on “Manually Lock Roster Changes” and set the lock date (stored as rosterLock / rosterLockDate); the same toggle is available under Settings.
Roster Lock is different from the registration close date (gateByEndDate): the close date stops new teams from signing up, while Roster Lock freezes edits to existing rosters. See Manage Registrations — Registration End-Date Gate.
